Blog: Marketing Exec Tina Bowness takes on Snowdon for City Catering!

This weekend I am looking forward to taking on Snowdon, yes I have challenged myself to climb all 1,085 metres of this Welsh mountain. I have worked for City Catering Southampton for 18 years, this August.

City Catering means so much to me and the important work we do as a charity such as feeding the residents of Southampton from school children to elderly and vulnerable adults. Being a parent myself, I also love that as a charity we provide meals over the school holidays to families who may otherwise go hungry.

This weekend I will be climbing Snowdon with three friends, the perfect group of people to get me to the top! Those of you that know me well, will know that I am not one to go to the gym or do any kind of exercise.

I did not even own a pair of trainers or walking boots until now!

It is definitely going to be a challenge, the mountain is based in Wales and it’s 9 miles to the top and back, which is approximately 6 hours.

Every donation is very much appreciated and goes back into the local community of Southampton.

I hope to inspire many looking to go on their own fundraising journeys and make an impact.

Whether it’s a Marathon or challenging your friends to a virtual quiz, we’d love you to fundraise for us. It’s a great way of sharing your appreciation whilst supporting us to do more.
