1.      Batch Cooking – This is great to do at the weekend when you have more time on your hands. Cook in larger qualities and freeze!

2.      Buy Seasonal Ingredients – By eating seasonally, you’re getting the food at its ‘nutritional best’ and you’ll save money on the food shop. We have attached our Seasonal Calendar for you.

3.      Reduce Food Waste - Plan your meals for the week to reduce any food waste.

4.      Switch to Low Energy Recipes – Look out for meals that have minimal cooking time on them, like our Couscous, Chickpea & Feta Salad.

5.      Reduce your Meat Consumption – By reducing the amount of meat you eat during the week and replacing it with vegetarian meals, you’ll be doing your bit to protect the environment against climate change.

6.      Use Food Containers – Purchase some food containers and use them instead of clingfilm or aluminum foil. These will be perfect to fill with leftovers from dinner time, and store in the fridge for tomorrow’s lunch.

7.      Freeze Leftovers – Another option for leftovers is to freeze them. It’s an easy dinner for those busy days!!

8.      Chop Food into Smaller Pieces – By cutting food into smaller pieces, they cook quicker, end result - less energy needed to cook it.

9.      Compost Food Scraps – Get a food waste bin, you can add any food scraps such as fruit & vegetable peelings, tea bags, hard fats & lard.
