We are committed to designing school menus that make the best use of local, seasonal ingredients and that are School Food compliant. We are proud to support our member schools and their pupils with Food-for-Life accredited meals.
The meals we provide help pupils stay focused and attentive for a productive afternoon of learning.
Pupils transitioning from Primary to Secondary school get to choose their own meals for the first time. Find out how we support their new-found lunchtime independence.
Working in partnership with 47 Infant, Junior, Primary, Secondary and SEN schools across Southampton. Visit our schools’ directory, below, to explore this season’s school menus – created in full consultation with each member school, to meet the needs and preferences of its pupils.
We create dishes from the heart, and all our school meals are prepared to National School Food Standards with delicious fresh, quality ingredients. Our school meals give pupils all the energy and essential nutrients they to stay focused right through until tea time.
Did you know that all school pupils in Year R, Year 1 and Year 2 receive a freshly cooked lunch, every day for free? To check if your child is eligible for free school meals in Primary or Secondary School, visit Southampton City Councils eligibility checker.
In April 2017, we launched the Country’s first school-menu app for pupils attending City Catering Southampton’s member schools. Its name – Lunchero! Since then, hundreds of Southampton families have downloaded the app to access our daily lunch menus as well as recreating favourite meals at home, thanks to our in-app recipes.
In September 2017, after much demand, we launched Lunchero+ This app has all the functionality of its younger sibling, including photos of meal choices, recipes and details of school holidays. Lunchero+ also provides secondary school users with tariff information and a simple calculator to help our young users add up the cost of food.
