Press Release: City Catering launches festive fundraiser

City Catering Southampton will be fundraising to be able to support their services including their Cooking at Home project as well as care meals service.

Cooking at Home supports cooking education, and provides recipe-led grocery boxes for those at risk of food insecurity. Their care meals service operates all year round, delivering hot healthy meals to elderly and vulnerable adults.

City Catering aim to inspire families to explore new flavours and techniques and gain confidence in cooking from scratch.

Their current funding is coming towards an end, so they are seeking funding to be able to support winter delivery of boxes as well as the onward programme during 2022. Every £20 could provide a grocery box full of fresh ingredients, recipes and resources together with online support, cook along videos and guidance.

Secondly, donators could also choose to donate towards a Christmas Care Meals package.

Over the festive period, they will also be serving up a special Christmas and New Year’s day meal, as well as gift bags on Christmas Day for their Erskine and Potters Court residents including some fruit, mince pies, Christmas crackers and other small gifts.

Any excess funding will support City Catering’s care meals service all year round, to ensure that they can continue to subsidise healthy hot meals for those who need them.
