Our New Summer School Menu for 2023!

The Summer Menu commences on the 17th April in most schools and runs until October half term. We have brought back some old favourites and added some NEW DISHES into the mix. Explore your school’s specific menu on our school menu page.

Our New Dishes

We have 8 delicious new dishes on the menu (each school menu can vary so you may not have all 8 on your schools 3-weekly menu). All the new dishes for Summer 2023 can be found in the poster, below.

We have a selection of new fruity desserts on the menu, such as our Iced Apricot Loaf (image 1), Banana Muffin (image 2), Pineapple Cake (image 3) and Fruit Sundae. Here are some photos of the new desserts, below!

Menu Feedback

We have made sure all the old dishes the children love are still on the menu, such as our Macaroni Cheese, Cheese & Tomato Pizza, Tomato Pasta, Roast Chicken, Quorn Nuggets and Fish Fingers.

We’re looking forward to getting some invaluable feedback from pupils and school staff on our new dishes. All feedback is shared with the Menu Development Team. Leave us your feedback, here.

Meat-free Wednesdays

We have continued to offer our meat-free Wednesday as part of our standard menu. City Catering made a pledge some time along, to reduce its environmental impact and this is one of the ways we intend to make a change. This is our Meat-free leaflet which explains our 3 main reasons for reducing our meat consumption.

Vegetable Portions

We have packed as many veggies into every dish!

Our in-house tomato sauce is freshly made, with no added sugar and packed with different vegetables. The sauce is used on our Cheese & Tomato Pizza, Tomato Pasta and Vegetarian Bolognese.

We also offer a daily salad selection - children can add their preferred salad items to their lunch, such as lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes.

Our Menu Development Team make sure they get as many veggies into children, during lunch service as possible. We want to give them all the nourishment they need to learn and grow.

Our School Menu Accreditations

Our menus are approved by Food for Life and follow the School Food Plan. This means that our menus abide by strict guidelines set out by The Soil Association and The Government.
