At City Catering, we believe lunchtime is more than just a break in the school day—it’s a vital part of a child’s educational journey. It’s where friendships are formed, new tastes are discovered, and lifelong memories are made. That’s why we see the time allocated for lunch, especially school-provided meals, as just as important as any subject on the curriculum.
Lunchtime offers rich opportunities for social development. Children build communication skills, share stories, and connect over their likes (and dislikes!) of food. These moments help reduce feelings of isolation and encourage inclusion. Our catering teams play a key role in this experience, working alongside school staff to create a welcoming, supportive environment.
We’re a professional team of nearly 250 employees who relish the opportunity to collaborate with our member school communities and specifically support our charitable initiatives.

Cooking at Home
Our very successful charitable initiative ‘Cooking At Home’, is more than the names suggests. It offers families from our member schools, especially those who are more vulnerable and struggling with food insecurity, an opportunity to be supported, not only during the Summer and Christmas breaks, but throughout the year.

Special Diets
Our online portal enables efficient management of special dietary requirements for pupils with allergies, intolerances, and SEN-related needs. The system is intuitive and provides clear benefits for all parties involved in delivering school meals.
Accreditations
We’re proud of the best practice standards we adhere to when it comes to our school meals. And we are even more delighted that we are recognised for these through our accreditations.
Year R
Starting school is a new exciting milestone in a child's life. Lunchtime has proven to be a fantastic way for children to bond, whilst discovering new foods together and build friendships, that can last a lifetime.
